Squirrel and Pearl is a creative partnership between friends and artists Joey Brock and Liz King. We come from very different mixed media worlds, and that difference is exactly the point. Our goal is to bring our styles together in ways that feel honest, curious, and a little unexpected—using contrast, humor, and experimentation to reflect how we both see and move through the world.
Working together lets ideas grow in ways they simply can’t when working alone. We bounce thoughts back and forth, build on each other’s strengths, and push one another to take creative risks. Sometimes that means mixing materials, sometimes it’s long conversations, and sometimes it’s letting the work surprise us. Collaboration keeps us learning, grounded, and connected—sharpening our ideas while making the process more fun and meaningful.
By combining our voices, Squirrel and Pearl creates work with more heart, more layers, and more room for people to see themselves in it. At its core, this collaboration is about connection—between artists, materials, ideas, and the people who encounter the work.
